Equipment Used: 35 mm camera, two digital cameras, two camcorders, two digital tape recorders.
History of Location: Was told area was once a pig farm, may also have contained mounds of bodies.
Reason for Investigation: Homeowner seen a spirit, red in color, hovering over her bed looking at her. She got frightened and concerned. She called me (Julie) personally, I went out to the home, I set a voice recorder out in the home and captured an EVP then. Then I set up the group investigation.
Physical Evidence: EVPS-we listened to tape recordings while at the home owners due to the fact they also were recording with our permission. Both homeowners and our group got consistant knocking we couldn't account for. We also could hear a clock ticking we couldn't account for, other than a clock was in the hallway. We had the bedroom door shut the whole time though and no one could hear with the human ear the clock ticking with the door shut. But picked up the clock on recordings. The knocking we still could not account for, we then, Donna and I, did an open session and asked out loud for them to knock while we were present, we provoked them into making the knocking noise so we could hear them with the human ear. We were recording asking this and on tape you can hear them do so (EVP 1). EVP of this has been given to the homeowner. I also, during a session in the same bedroom with Donna, felt a cool breeze. With the tape recoder going I asked if it was her ex-husband who had passed on, on tape you can hear another knock. I asked again if it was him, no knock came again. That recording was also given to the homeowner (EVP 2). I did also pick up what sounds like someone taking a heavy breath that was also given to the homeowner . The first time I went out when called on my own, I did pick up an EVP which Phil cleaned up for me which a copy was also given to the homeowner (EVP 3). Thanks to Phil and Haunted Voices again for help with EVPs. The homeowners themselves reported getting many EVP's. West Michigan Spirit Seekers did not clean any of them up, but did listen to them on tape, but we did let them know that by listening to them on tape it is hard to judge what they said without cleaning and the propoer program.
Julie's Findings: I, and Donna experienced the big bang noise when I asked out loud for them to make the knocking noise. I felt a cool breeze and asked if it was her ex-husband and a knock happened again. I will leave it up to the homeowner to decide what she hears to make up her own mind if she thinks it's anyone she knows.
Conclusion: Although we didn't get anything on pictures or video, we did get a lot on digital tape, EVP wise. They did seem to respond when asked to make a knocking noise, it was just a small knock, It was a loud knock as you can hear on tape. We (Donna and I) actually thought the room next doors wall was going to come down. Some wouls call it coincidental, being there and experiencing it myself with Donna, we would say no. Listening to it on tape it would seem yes and no. Hearing what they have to say voice wise was no response to questions, so one would say it's residual. I have given a copy of Phil's comments to what he said about the first evp I picked up when there. Either way it is not enough to call the home haunted in standats of a haunting. It is enough to say we did pick up EVP's, be it residual or otherwise. I will let the homeowners hearand judge for themselves if they think it is a relative or the voice is not recognizablem or if they have ever heard these knocks before. They will also be told we never close a case and if they need anything else to please call.
Note: Also on a side note I will inform the homeowner that although I found no evidence that the home can be confirmed as haunted, I am going by one night of investigation, which is not enough to go by. The homeowner lives there on a regular basis and knowsm sees, and hears more than we do each and every day. Spirits and ghosts don't act on command, this is just my findings and my group findings for that night only. I will be offering suggestions as to what all optins are if she is still having problems. We can always come back to re-investigate if need be.
The homeowner emailed me saying since I was there, things are still going on .
